The Route 66 ride will follow one big loop thru the Meramec River headwaters area with no food stops anywhere. It usually takes over 2 hours to do the whole ride, because there are about 7 pretty big climbs. The ride will start at the HWY 8 Meramec River access, just about a mile past Meramec Springs Park and less than 10 miles from the St. James exit on I-44.

I'm interested in joining this ride on Jan 24 - I'm not sure I fully understand the ride. What type of bike? Any women on these rides?

Let me know. Thanks.

Hi Terri,

Easy ride on gravel roads. Many bring MTB's and some cyclocross bikes. Average pace is 12 to 13 mph. It is a no drop ride, we re-gorup at intersections before moving on. It's hilly out here so expect a good deal of climbing. Several women joined the rides last year.

Hope that helps -

One more question - is there any charge for the ride or just show up?

Thanks for the info.

No charge for the ride, it's just for fun.
